Using your Combekk Dutch Oven
Heat your Combekk Dutch Oven slowly and always use either a frying product (oil, butter or fat) or a liquid (such as water, wine or bouillon). Dry cooking can damage the enamel. If you are adding liquid to a hot Combekk pan, warm it through (gently) first to avoid extreme differences in temperature.
Deep frying: do not fill more than 1/3 of the pan with oil, to ensure the oil level has room to rise when the ingredients are added.
What cooking utensils can I use with my Combekk Dutch Oven?
We recommend you only use wooden or heat-resistant plastic cooking utensils, so that you don’t damage the enamel layer.
What heat sources does my Combekk Dutch Oven work on?
Electric or ceramic hobs, gas, & induction. Your Combekk Dutch Oven feels at home on any heat source (except for microwaves). Select the right size ring or hot plate. Make sure the pan covers the heat source/flames fully so that the sides and handles don’t overheat. - If you’re cooking on a glass hob: lift the pan rather than sliding it to prevent damage
Your Combekk Dutch Oven is perfect for use in the oven. Always put it on a baking sheet or oven shelf and never on the bottom of the oven.
The side handles, knob and/or cast iron pan handle will get hot. Only hold them using an oven mitt, oven gloves or a dry cloth.
Cleaning & Caring for your Combekk Dutch Oven
Its important to allow your Comebekk Dutch Oven to cool down slowly. Never plunge it into cold water!
Once, it has cooled wash it by hand (using a nylon scourer if necessary) and a mild detergent. You can also leave baked-on food to soak in warm water and wash it off later. Dry the pan thoroughly and rub a drop of oil around the inside to keep the enamel in good condition.
Store, using the protection clips between the lid and the Dutch Oven in a dry place.
